Jesus Saves
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Luke 19:10
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
1 Peter 1:3-5
Followers of Jesus Have Been Saved, Are Being Saved & Will Be Saved!
“He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him....”
Hebrews 7:25a
I. Jesus Saves through Making Peace
“Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage & Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples & said to them, ‘Go into the village in front of you, & immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it & bring it. If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it & will send it back here immediately.’’ And they went away & found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, & they untied it. And some of those standing there said to them, ‘What are you doing, untying the colt?’ And they told them what Jesus had said, & they let them go. And they brought the colt to Jesus & threw their cloaks on it, & he sat on it. And many spread their cloaks on the road, & other spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields.” Mark 11:1-8
“Behold your king is coming to you; righteous & having salvation is he, humble & mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
Zechariah 9:9b
“For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6
“Jesus is unlike any other king who ever lived.”
Kent Hughes
Jesus Saves thru Making Peace:
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 5:1
Jesus Made Peace, Not through War, but instead...
“...making peace by the blood of his cross.”
Colossians 1:20b
II. Jesus Saves to an Eternal Kingdom
“And those who went before & those who followed were shouting, ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!’”
Mark 11:9-10
But when Pilate asked him about his kingship,
“Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom is not of this world...’”
John 18:36

Acts 4:12.
“Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.”
Revelation 19:11-16
Jesus Saves...for now. When he comes a second time, it will be to execute the righteous wrath of God on those who refused to repent. One day, after thousands of years of offering forgiveness and providing peace, Jesus will establish his eternal kingdom for all the saved who have followed him. What about You? When Jesus Saves, He guarantees that you are on the winning side of life and eternity. Why would you not follow him today?
